Music "and/in/is/for/of" Life !!!

Music and Life:
Music is full of life and Life is so Musical. The definitions for both "Music" and "Life" are very unsatisfactory in any dictionary. The simple reason is the origin for both is associated with nature/universe which is simply infinite.
A life devoid of music is almost unimaginable, rarely do we ever stop to think of the many ways music influences life.

Music is Life:
A biologist would say Life is sensing, experience, wonderment, beauty, etc.And a musician would say Music is all this.I would rather say "Music is life giving".Medical research shows that brain responds to music as if it were a medicine. One need not go to a Drug store with the prescription slip. All the needed therapy is probably hidden in your home's music collection.Several critical cases have been treated through music as medicine.Music is life-giver.Music is Life.

"If I were to begin life again, I would devote it to music. It is the only cheap and unpunished rapture upon earth." Sydney Smith

Life in Music:
Music is so lively.Life is a play composed of emotions. So is music. The emotional content forms the life in music.Music is the shorthand of emotions.

"Music expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words." ~Robert G. Ingersoll

Music for Life:
Music is just not the backgroud murmur. Its the energy, a driving force that can motivate people through bad times to come out of the shadows.
Music is a cure for ailments, its an inspiration for life, its a media for relaxation and a blissful media for God realization.

"Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons. You will find it is to the soul what a water bath is to the body." ~Oliver Wendell Holmes

Music of Life:
The strong memories, good and bad, love and happiness form the music of life.Music can be very intimate and personal, yet universal.

Music washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

Purnamadah purnamidham purnath purnamudachyathe
Purnasya purnamadhaya purnamevavashisyate
This Sanskrit verse explains the origin of OM Kara. It says, OM is infinite, it came from infinite. When infinite is subtracted from it, it remains infinite, such is its vastness!

From this all pervading, eternal Nada (sacred sound) of the Universe, of the God, creator of Nature “OM” emanated the seven swaras.Sources prove that the seven swaras are derived from the mother Nature(Universe) and each swara has its origin associated with the natural sound created by the divine animals .

1. Sa- Shadjamam - Cry of a peacock
2. Ri- Rishabham - Sound of an ox
3. Ga- Gandharam - Bleating of a goat
4. Ma- Madhyamam- Call of the heron
5. Pa- Ranchamam- Call of the cuckoo
6. Dha- Dhaivatham- Neighing of the horse
7. Ni- Nishadham- Trumpeting of the elephant

The seven swaras in varied combinations give rise to the twelve families of ragas, called the 12 chakras (According to Sampoorna Mela paddathi). Each of these12 families have 6 off-springs, that amounts to 12*6 =72 melakartha ragas, from which have originated hundreds and thousands of janya ragas.
1. Indu (Kanakangi,ratnangi,ganamurthey,vanaspathi,manavathi,thanarupi)
2. Netra (Senavathi,hanumathodi,dhenukanatakapriya,kokilapriya,rupavathi)
3. Agni (gayakapriya,vakulabharanam,mayamalavagowla,chakravakam,suryakantha,hatakambhari)
4. Veda (Jankaradwani,nathabhairavi,keervani,karaharapriya,Gowrimanohari,varunapriya)
5. Bana (Mararanjani,charukeshi,sarasangi,harikamboji,Dhira shankarabharanam, naganandini)
6. Rutu (yagapriya,ragavardhini,gangeyabhushani,vagadishwari,sulini,chalanata)
7. Rishi (salagham,jalarnavam,jhalavarali,navaneetham,pavani,Raghupriya)
8. Vasu (gavambodhi,bhavapriya,shubha panthuvarali,sadhvidha margini,suvarnangi,divyamani)
9. Brahma (Dhavalambhari,namanarayani,kamavardhini,Ramapriya,Gamanashrama,Vishwambhari)
10. Disi (Shyamalangi,shanmukhapriya,Simhendra madhyama,Hemavathi,Dharmavathi,Neethimathi)
11. Rudra (Kanthamani,Rishabhapriya,Lathangi,Vachaspathi,Mecha kalyani,Chitrambari)
12. Adithya (Sucharitha,Jyothiswaroopini,Dhatuvardhini,Nasikabhushani,Kosalam,Rasikapriya)

The raga in combination with the appropriate rasa would bring completeness to music.
